Estimated budgets for transitioning a 2010 graduate through the Gap Period, Tertiary Education and into employment

48 GGBC Girls graduate high school in November 2010; 20 from Starehe, 24 from St. Martin's and 4 from Blessed Generation. It is assumed 25 will finish with scores that qualify them to participate in the Government's University Loan Program. The other 23 will qualify for a 2-3 year Certificate/Diploma Program. The scenarios in this section highlight only some of the options available to Kenyan Girls. Investments ranging from $7,000 to $10,000 (per girl), ensures these girls are transitioned into professions and careers with the same attention and care that enabled and empowered them to graduate high school. Depending on their skills, talents and aspirations they will take various paths to become contributing members of society.
