GASHORA GIRLS ACADEMY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (GGAST)
Marie de Dieu holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from University of Rwanda, College of Medicine and Health Sciences. She also served as a Peace Corp Volunteer where she had been empowering young girls to be self- confident and good at public speaking. In her daily life at University campus, Marie de Dieu continuously empowered girls through debate sessions as well as meeting with young adolescents. She also educated them on reproductive health and inspired them to become better future achievers. Up on pursuing her degree she served as a UN Volunteer under the Ministry of Youth and ICT where her team organized Youth Connekt Africa Summit 2017. She worked at USAID- Gikuriro program through Faith Victory Association and her day-to-day duties included but not limited to adolescent nutrition, nutrition of pregnant mothers and under-five children. She has served as coordinator of Global Give Back Circle at GGAST. In this role, she runs leadership skills workshops and ensures communication between mentors and mentees runs smoothly and assists girls implement their giving back commitments. Additionally, she is currently a GGAST Nutritionist in charge of the school menu and makes sure that food is healthy. Besides, she serves as a mentor for the Girl Up club in the Whole Girl Program. She is passionate about women and girls’ empowerment.
