Mentorship Program Assistant – Africa (Bilingual English-French)
Description of Assignment: Directly support the implementation and success of Mentorship Programs for African Youth age 18-35. The program assistant will provide administrative, operational, and communication support to the Program Team. This includes administrative duties, communication, mentor and mentee programming tasks, partner engagement, and research and reporting.
Duration of Assignment: 8 months – renewable
DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

The program assistant responsibilities include:
Program Support
- Work with Program Manager on direct support for a Pan African Mentorship Program.
- Mentee and Mentor relationship management
- Assist with Mentor and Mentee Recruitment.
- Collect mentee and mentor stories
- Engage with partners and attend planning and implementation meetings as needed (typically virtual)
- Assist with interactions, trainings other work with the international team.
- Communicate programming enhancements, and transfer knowledge of best practice processes and content to staff and partners, as required for day-to-day program implementation and execution of deliverables.
- Create SOP’s as needed for implementation.
Other project needs as requested to support the needs of the organization.
Communications
- Contribute to creation and publication of Newsletters and Mentor /Mentee Tips
- Contribute to creation and publication of Mentor and Mentee Stories
- Contribute to program materials and bring all materials up to date, including: Mentoring Applications, Mentoring Guidebook, and Mentor Welcome Letter etc.
- Contribute to the implementation of social media strategy and assist in generating innovative content across all social media accounts on a weekly basis
- Design and publish reports and/or work closely with graphic designer to create booklets, annual reports, branding materials etc. as needed
Mentor Base Management
- Assist with the recruitment, vetting, onboarding, and retention of Pan African mentors.
- Monitor mentor and mentee engagement, includes reviewing Communication Tracking Report for Global Give Back Circle.
Event Planning
- Assist in the event planning and coordination of events.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum bachelor’s degree.
- Speak, communicate and write English and French Fluently.
- Passion to work in a dynamic not-for-profit environment serving at-risk population.
- An undergraduate degree in relevant project administration field. Strong organizational Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Flexible, detail oriented, organized, adaptable to changing priorities and able to take initiative and to meet strict deadlines.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Self-driven, innovative, pro-active and self-directed.
- Demonstrated the ability to work with virtual teams including effective use of web conferencing, video-conferencing and tele-conferencing.
- Advanced Microsoft office skills especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint Fluency in English, including excellent written and oral communication skills.
This is a contract position.
