There are young women in Kenya and Rwanda waiting to meet their mentors.
Some are still in high school – unsure about what life has in store for them. Others have crossed the high school threshold and are now in various levels of tertiary education. The one thing they all have in common is their starting place in life.
For reasons outside their control, they come from marginalized backgrounds, where poverty and often harmful cultural practices hold them in the margins of society. They have ambition. They have talent. They have determination. What many lack is access to the guidance, networks, and encouragement that can help turn potential into possibility. That is where mentors come in.
Become a Role Model Mentor
Our mentors listen to the hopes and dreams of their mentees, while providing thoughtful and different perspectives which help their mentees make informed decisions – decisions which impact their pathways to economic empowerment, independence and happiness.
Through a structured one-to-one virtual mentorship model, local and long-distance mentors can easily walk alongside their mentee as she builds confidence, develops workplace-readiness skills, embraces the privilege of giving back, explores opportunities, and navigates her next steps towards further education, entrepreneurship, or employment.
